AJ Falkers Counseling partners with schools and educational organizations to make high-quality mental health support more accessible to students and families. Our school-based partnerships are designed to complement the work of school counselors, social workers, administrators, teachers, and student-support teams while helping reduce barriers to receiving behavioral health services.
We believe effective school partnerships are collaborative, responsive, and centered on the individual needs of each student.
We are proud to partner with school districts throughout our communities to help expand access to mental health services for students and families.
AJ Falkers Counseling currently partners with:
Tomah Area School District
Galesville Area School District
Bangor Area School District
Melrose-Mindoro School District
La Crosse Area School District
Sparta Area School District
These partnerships allow us to work alongside educators, school counselors, social workers, administrators, families, and other student-support professionals to help connect students with appropriate mental health resources.
AJ Falkers Counseling works with school districts and individual schools to develop mental health services that fit the needs of their students and communities.
Partnership services may include:
Individual Counseling: Therapeutic support for students experiencing emotional, behavioral, social, or life challenges.
Early Intervention: Connecting students with appropriate support before concerns become more disruptive to their academic or personal well-being.
Family Collaboration: Working with parents and caregivers, when appropriate and authorized, to strengthen support outside of school.
School Team Collaboration: Coordinating with authorized school professionals to support continuity of care while respecting student privacy and confidentiality.
Referral Support: Helping schools establish clear pathways for referring students who may benefit from professional counseling services.
Consultation: Collaborating with school personnel regarding student mental health needs, available resources, and appropriate supports within the scope of the partnership.
Mental Health Education: Providing educational opportunities and resources that can help students, families, and school communities better understand mental health and emotional wellness.
School-based partnerships can make it easier for students and families to connect with mental health support. By working collaboratively with schools, we aim to reduce barriers to care, support earlier intervention, and strengthen communication among the individuals helping each student.
Our goal is to help students develop skills and support systems that contribute to their emotional well-being, relationships, academic participation, and everyday life.
AJ Falkers Counseling recognizes the important work already being done by school counselors, psychologists, social workers, teachers, administrators, and other school professionals.
Our role is not to replace existing school-based services. Instead, we serve as a collaborative community mental health partner, providing additional clinical resources and helping schools connect students and families with appropriate counseling services.
Partnerships can be structured around the unique needs, resources, and goals of each school district.
Student and family trust is essential. Counseling services are provided in accordance with applicable professional, ethical, privacy, consent, and confidentiality requirements.
When collaboration with school personnel is appropriate, information is shared only as permitted or required by applicable law and professional standards. Specific privacy, consent, documentation, and communication procedures are established as part of each school partnership.
We welcome conversations with school districts, administrators, pupil services teams, school counselors, social workers, and other educational leaders interested in expanding mental health resources for their students.
Every school community has different needs. We begin by learning about your students, existing support systems, referral needs, and goals so we can explore a partnership that works for your district.
